Aspiring Data Engineer & Software Developer
I'm an Economics student at Kenyatta University with a growing passion for software development and data science. While I'm honest about being early in my coding journey, I'm committed to learning and improving every day.
My strongest skill is Python, which I've used for data analysis and web scraping projects. I'm comfortable with HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript. I recently gained some real-world experience working with Perl and Node.js at EGA Tech, though it was a challenging learning experience that taught me a lot about the industry.
I believe in transparency and continuous learning. I use AI tools to help me understand complex concepts and build projects, which I see as a modern approach to learning programming. I've also completed virtual experience programs with JP Morgan Chase to gain insights into financial technology.
What I'm looking for: A software engineering or data engineering internship where I can learn from experienced developers, contribute to meaningful projects, and grow my technical skills in a supportive environment.
Here's an honest assessment of my current technical abilities:
My first real development role where I worked on company applications using technologies I was learning on the job.
Here are some projects I've worked on to practice and learn new concepts:
A data science project predicting 2025 pharmaceutical prices for KEMSA using 2017 data. Built with Jupyter Notebooks to analyze supply chain trends and forecast pricing for healthcare procurement.
Completed JP Morgan Chase's software engineering virtual experience program, working on financial data visualization tasks and learning about fintech applications.
Various HTML/CSS projects including a spec project website. These helped me practice responsive design, layout techniques, and web development fundamentals.
Practice projects working with SQL and TSQL to understand database operations and data querying fundamentals.
